PowerCom dongle license management

PowerCom is committed to continuous development and innovation with the goal of maintaining our reputation as the most cutting-edge and sophisticated Audience Response System producer on the market. We are constantly striving to integrate user suggestions, increase functionality, and stay up-to-date with the newest versions of Microsoft PowerPoint, OS’s, and other PowerCom associated systems. Currently, we are dedicated to a fixed schedule of issuing a version upgrade about every two months!

PowerCom users with a dongle license are entitled to one year of free license and software upgrades, and their existing licenses will never expire—presenters can continue to use their versions of PowerCom’s software indefinitely.

In order to enjoy the bi-monthly upgrades, however, (recent version update features include instituting complete functionality in eight languages, calculating and storing demographics, and other new features) PowerCom ARS users will need to update their licenses after their one year of free upgrades have expired. Please note that the PowerCom dongle version must be greater than or equal to the PowerCom application version or the dongle license will not work. (Note: The PowerCom dongle license matches only the first and second digits of the PowerCom version number, and ignores the third digit of the version number. For example, PowerCom v2.34 will work with dongle v2.36.)

This table was updated on 4-23-2010.
For example:
If your dongle feature ID is 11 then it is a PowerCom Reply WorldWide dongle license and will work ONLY with PowerCom Reply WorldWide V2.31.x (include V2.32).

Notes:

  1. PowerCom version number consists of 3 parts. Dongle license engine only matches the 1st and 2nd part and ignores the 3rd part. The reason PowerCom uses a 3 parts version number is to avoid frequent dongle upgrade. So if your dongle is V2.31 it will work with all version of 2.31.x (x from 0 to any number).
  2. PowerCom M2M (Moment to Moment) license includes a PowerCom Reply Plus license with the same keypad count.

Tip: Please send your current dongle c2v file to PowerCom[at]dsii.net for PowerCom license upgrade. Please review III. How to upgrade PowerCom version on Dongle of the document file How To use Dongle in PowerCom.pdf on the PowerCom installation CD.
