PowerCom is an ARS software as a Microsoft PowerPoint® add-in. There is only one way to deliver your presentation with PowerPoint®—presentation with a live speaker.
You can run PowerCom slide show in either demo mode or real mode. Demo mode simulate 250 keypads polling without connect to base station. Real mode requires base station connection.
During the slide show, you use SpaceBar keyboard to advance the slide show navigation. Start polling automatically when the slide is presented (this is the system default setting). Audiences can vote when they see the question slide show up. You can optionally play music and/or display a timer countdown clock during the polling. When timer expired PowerCom will automatically stop the polling. You can freeze the timer before it expire by press shortcut key “T ” again. If you are not using the timer and when you see the time is up, you can press Spacebar to stop the polling. At this Stop stage, you can change mind and continue polling by press shortcut key “C ”. If you decide not to show result, you can press Page Down key to advance to next slide. (You can come back later on to this slide to show result) Press SpaceBar at Stop stage will display result graphic, it is too late to continue polling. At Stop and Display stages, you can clear the polling result and re-vote by pressing shortcut key “R ”.
To deliver a real mode ARS meeting in a large room, monitors and projectors are usually the most common way of delivering presentations. The speaker will have complete control of the presentation and will run the show manually. PowerCom is not a self-running presentation and must have a speaker to manually start and stop polling.
PowerCom color code the Poller Box background to show the base station connection status.
A green poller box background indicates the base is connected and the polling processing is normal.
A Red poller box background signals the base is not connected and the polling processing is interrupted. Presenter should examine the base station connection and try to take action to resume the polling such as stop the poll and continue again. If the connection can not be re-established, you may have to re-vote by clear the poll.
At Stop
and Display
stage, poller box background displays yellow background which indicates the base is connected, however, the vote will not be register.
For a large meeting, it is common practice to have a technician provide onsite assistance for operating the presentation and for help with keypad polling.
Tip: Down arrow key, and Right arrow key has the same effect as SpaceBar key.
